Meet Our Horses
NOTE
We receive calls and emails on needy horses on a weekly basis and
we do not have the space to list them all.  Please contact us
if you don't find a horse here that fits your needs--we may have
one waiting to come in that will be perfect for you!

Pre applications must be filled out with site
and reference checks required.  We ask that all potential
new caregivers agree to come and work with the horse
while the application is being reviewed.
This is sort of a "lets get to know each other"
between the horse and new caregivers to be sure
that we have a match and both
are comfortable with each other.

We would like to take this oportunity to thank
The Seidman family for their generous donation
which helped get Cash and Katie
safely to the rescue, and for being BJ's "angel"
family and helping  with his expenses and needs.
Thank you so very much!

HORSES FOR PLACEMENT

New arrival
Starr

She is an approx. 25 yr old, dark bay,
TB mare who came in from the New Holland auction,
very thin and very pregnant (she gave birth to Starrbuck here in rescue) in 2001.

Due to a health issue in her current placement family,

Starr is coming back to TMER.
Starr has a bad right eye and can no longer see out of it due to
an old trauma long before she arrived at rescue.
It doesn't bother her and she is used to only seeing from one eye
She is a gorgeous girl and very sweet and loving--esp. loves to be groomed and fussed over in her stall.
Starr is healthy and sound but is not rideable--we will never know her true history
but it is very traumatic for her to be ridden and so she needs a home as a companion horse only.
She is an easy keeper and has no special medical needs--she just
needs another horsey buddy to be a friend to and a safe, loving home to live out her days.
There is no placement fee for her.   Our sincere thanks for the wonderful home the
Simano family gave her--our thoughts and prayers are with them in their time of need.

Leo

Leo--approx. 15 yr old warmblood gelding that came in with many issues.
He is currently gaining weight and doing well, however he will never be rideable.
Leo has suffered blown suspensories and other injuries to his
legs and although he gets around just fine--he cannot carry a rider.

At approx. 17.1H Leo is a gentle giant--he is sweet and loving and very
easy to work around--he bonds with other horses and would make a fantastic
companion for another horse.
Do you have another horse that would like a new best friend--if so Leo is your man!
 Under evaluation:

Thank you to the Seidman family
 for sponsoring him!

He Owns The Bank (aka Cash)

"He owns the Bank" (aka: Cash)
5 yr old OTTB gelding, approx.16H bay.
Cash is very sweet and easy to handle--he will make someone
a wonderful pleasure or trail mount (no jumping homes due to prior fracture).
We have re-started him under saddle and he's doing very well.
Gentle boy that tries hard to please and has been very calm
and well behaved under saddle.
Cash will crib if left inside without food--but a cribbing strap takes care of that
(he does not crib while out or while he's eating-just when he's bored)
He gets along well with other horses and is good for vet, farrier
(he wears front shoes)--no vices ie: kicking, biting, etc.
Cash is a love of a horse that is looking for his forever family!

Starrbuck
Adopted!

Here he is with his new Mom!
Thank you Deb for giving him a such a loving home.
Congratulations
!

Adoption PENDING!!!
Shea -This was when he came to us..

And below is now.....
WOW what changes that are so visible!

He's growing up and
learning what tack is all about!

He has  been here being rehabilitated for a leg  injury
he suffered when he was only 2-3 days old.
He was to be euthanized
if we were not able to take him in.  We are working
closely with our veterinarian, Dr. Jeanne Best,
and so far this little one is doing much better.
He has already worked his way into everyone's heart and
is a very sweet, special boy,
who also, is quite the little character!
Update:
Shea is progressing very well and is running and
playing like a normal  horse!
Although it will be some time before we can determine if he
will be able to carry a rider,
we are very pleased with his progess so far.
He is a very sweet, loving young man!

Dell
 Under evaluation

Dell--newly arrived from Long Island.  Dell is an approx.
16H appendix TB that came to us a couple weeks ago.
He has a soft tissue injury in the RF, needs some weight,
but is a very handsome, talented guy.
Dell has done lots of trail miles,
little dressage and small jumping, etc.
He is currently moving well but our vet and farrier will be determining when
he can be put back into work and how much he will be able to do.
He is currently looking for a sponsor until
all his medical is completed and he is ready for a new home.

PERMANENT RESIDENTS
Due to various reasons,  these horses will be
with us for the rest of their days and because of that,
their expenses can be quite overwhelming.
Any sponsorships or donations that may help
with their day to day needs and care would be greatly appreciated!

<>
Jack
Jack--approx. 15 yr old QHX gelding.  Due to the severe abuse he suffered,

Jack will remain a permanent resident of TMER.
We continue to work with him and he receives alot of love and attention.
He has shown alot of improvement and can be a very sweet boy.
Sponsors would be greatly appreciated
to help with his monthly expenses.

Buddy
an aged strawberry roan appy--due to his age and medical needs,
Buddy is a permanent resident of TMER.
He LOVES treats
and would also love a sponsor all his own!
